～な 〔賢い〕 clever; bright; brainy; wise; intelligent; sagacious; sensible; 〔抜け目のない〕 shrewd; smart.

●お利口な 〔(子供などが)聞き分けのよい〕 《a》 good 《boy, girl》

・一人でお留守番できるなんて, お利口ね. You've been very good today staying home all alone!

・お利口さんだから泣くんじゃないの. Don't cry. There's a good boy [girl]!

・利口な人 ＝りこうもの

・利口な子 a bright child; a clever boy [girl]

・利口な犬 an intelligent [a smart] dog

・利口な人間ならそんなことはしない. A sensible [prudent] person wouldn't do a thing like that.

・利口そうな顔をした intelligent-looking; bright-looking

・利口そうな顔をしている look brainy [intelligent]; have an intelligent face.

●それは利口なやり方ではない. That's not a sensible way of doing it.
